Susie Rea is a practicing artist and commercial photographer. Her fine art practice explores the fault lines where medicine, technology and society meet. She is currently researching for a practice-based PhD at Ulster University looking at the biosocial impact of new genetic technologies through the typology of the family portrait. She has extensive commercial experience working across editorial, design and advertising industries, as well as with private clients.
Susie Rea (b. 1977) was brought up in Belfast, Northern Ireland. She read history at Newnham College, Cambridge University, before studying fine art at Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts. After living for over a decade in London, she returned to Belfast where she now lives and works.
