The Bishop's Palace, Waterford

The Bishop's Palace in Waterford is now home to the city's Museum of Treasures Collection which celebrates the ethnic, cultural and religious diversity of all who contributed to the making of Waterford, Ireland's oldest city. I drove south to shoot the newly opened and magnificently restored building for Antique Fireplaces Ireland who helped with the restoration project. Designed in 1741 by the famous Anglo-German architect Richard Castles (known most famously for Leinster House in Dublin, the seat of the Irish Parliament), the building is an elegant early Georgian design with simple lines and wonderful high ceilings. It was a lovely space to shoot and full of Waterford history. Worth a visit if you are visiting the area!
