A Room of My Own
'A woman must have money and a room of her own to write fiction', so wrote Virginia Woolf in 1928. Inspired by these words, while living on my own in a tiny chambre de bonne during a period of study in Paris, I created this series. The photographs capture a wonderfully quiet and introverted time, when my world was entirely my own. The magic of the city itself permeates all of the images as I grappled with how to photograph the most photographed city in the world.
