The Docks
The Docks are the axis upon which the city of Belfast rotates. They dominate the skyline, a visual reminder of its thriving industrial past. I see the cranes as benign watchtowers, as the gates to the city. In times gone by they greeted me on my return to a place I called home. Now they welcome me to a place that is home. Part of me wonders what these structures would tell us of our past, of the conflict that has troubled our people and the peace that has now been achieved.
