An event to mark Suicide Awareness Week at Springhill Gardens in West Belfast
It was lovely to be working with Deirdre Mackel at Springfield Development Trust again on their Suicide Awareness Week campaign event earlier this month. I was asked to document the afternoon's proceedings and fortunately for me I was blessed with a stunning day. The garden was bathed in sunshine on one of the first fine days of the summer but the residents of the Springhill Estate dragged themselves away from their paddling pools and deckchairs to help kick off the event in style. The artists, in collaboration with community groups, were showing off their custom made mobile exhibition space 'The Little Gallery' which housed work created to raise awareness of suicide. It was a positive, happy event and a great success for all involved.
